Rooted In Prayer

Jun,e in the Catholic Church, ushers in both a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Pentecost, the outpouring of that love through the Holy Spirit. This love relationship we share with God calls us to create margin in our day to allow that quiet time with Him. Prayers to the Sacred Heart is a devotion that centers exclusively on our love relationship with our Lord. And just like any relationship, it requires communication to keep it strong and vibrant. Prayer is our ongoing conversation with God.

Do not let the past disturb you, just leave everything in the Sacred Heart and begin again with joy.

–St. Teresa of Calcutta

Prayer to the Sacred Heart

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,
I adore you, I love you and with a lively sorrow for my sins.
I offer you this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to your will.
Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in you and for you.
Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions;
give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs,
your blessings on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death.
Within your heart I place my every care.
In every need let me come to you with humble trust saying,
Heart of Jesus, help me.
Amen.

    I am looking forward to this coming Sunday, the Feast of Corpus Christi in recognition of Jesus love in the sacrament of Holy Communion. The Body and Blood of Christ transforming our lives, even if we don’t see this happening, we are joined with the Communion of Saints. What a privilege and Blessing! Let us show God the praise and adoration He deserves all the time. What a Gift!!
