I believe that only in looking back do we find life’s full perspective. In a recent conversation with a friend, I remarked that when I look back, just a few years ago, it is as if it was another lifetime. I feel as though I’m living someone else’s life. Change is happening so quickly these days that it’s often difficult to recognize the change until you are well into it. It is in looking back that we ask –

What just happened here?

With each new year and corresponding obstacle, it’s as though everything that I’ve ever relied on or found comfort in has been challenged. Slowly, it is teaching me to losen my grip on them. As I look back I find that God has been waiting for me all along. Waiting for me to let go and free my hand so that He can grab hold of it. How patient He has been.
